Rose Muir

She was born and raised in Baltimore City and nearby cities to Deaf parents and hearing siblings who are fluent in ASL. She also have some other Deaf members in her family too. She went to Maryland School for the Deaf from Fall of 1982 and graduated in 1996. She then went to Rochester Institute of Technology for three years before deciding to take a break from college and worked for 2 years. She became pregnant with her first child, left her job a month before giving birth and gave birth in 2002. In late 2003, she realized that she needed to go back to college and finish. She enrolled Gallaudet University in Winter of 2004 and graduated in 2008 with Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. August of 2008, she married Mark Muir and gave birth to twins in 2009 then in 2010 they had another child together. November 2015, she and her family moved to Phoenix. As she was new to the area and did not really know many people. She got lucky and stumbled upon one of PDWO's event on a Facebook post and went to Sadie Hawkins event. She met several people there who led her to get a job at Phoenix Day School for the Deaf as a Instructional Aide and she also became a member of PDWO then eventually became Multimedia Coordinator. She is grateful for this experience and looks forward to see what she can contribute to this organization. She is also excited for Deaf Women United Conference 2019 in Phoenix. While she has several interests but acting is her passion. She hope to be in some movies or be a regular actress on TV someday!
